CastleDiva Court a new home

Posted on April 3rd, 2009 by ThomasMurray

Hi everyone, as this is my first post I would like to introduce myself  my name is Thomas Murray I live in Dublin with Margo the cat. Welcome to my blog.

I first got really interested in dolls houses about 5 years ago. A magazine called the ultimate dolls house had just come out and it gave you the components to build, furnish & decorate a 6 room Victorian house.

After collecting several issues and still being no closer to having the prized dolls house I longed for I took matters into my own hands went to Argos bought a cheap jigsaw & drill came home and before I knew it I had turned a 3 shelf bookcase into a very modest 8 room Georgian town house. I had my prize and a very confused cat sitting on piles of books in the middle of the floor thinking that I had totally lost my senses.

After spending several weeks and every spare minute decorating and lighting and the addition of an attic and basement(another bookcase)little did i realise that these 2 extensions would be the start of what was to become CastleDiva Court 100 room Georgian country estate. the house lacked life i needed residents. Studying my new bible aka the DHE catalogue one doll seemed to be jumping off the pages and saying “OK dear you have built and decorated the house now come and fetch me “. With my mind made up I called into my local shop of which I had become and still am a very regular customer I looked through their selection of dolls and there she was my ultimate doll. So after having made several other purchases to make her life comfortable I made my way home. So that evening with a maid and cat in tow Lady Georgina finally moved into her new home. I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how

Thomas
