Decorating strategy
Posted on April 3rd, 2008 by Marie
This past week, I spent most of my time thinking out my decorating strategy for the rooms of the house; specifically the ceilings. In my opinion, the ceiling is one of the most vital parts of a room and can make or break it. I love crown mouldings and ornamental pieces that naturally draw the eye upward. So, I’ve really been putting a lot of thought into this aspect of the house.
I started work on the livingroom, diningroom (see photo above) and library; wall treatments mainly. Next is the music room. I am sort of at a standstill because before I can lay any flooring, or continue any ceiling work, I need to order more tapewire, light fixtures, and mouldings. So I’m trying to do other things to aid in the progression forward. I should be able to place an order very soon.
I’ve also been working on the main doors to the house that make up the front exterior. I’ve painted them and attached the stonework at the bottom and will soon start working on the decorative trim pieces. I am sooo pleased with my color choices for the exterior. I couldn’t have done any better if I tried.
I’ve chosen several pieces of Bespaq furniture for the guest room, master bedroom and diningroom. These pieces are really going to make these rooms fantastic!
Also, don’t forget that MOST of my photos of the Grosvenor Hall are featured in the Album section of my blog Homepage.
