I Got the Grosvenor just before this Xmas (2011 ) I can’t wait to make a start but got a lighthouse to get on with 1st, I have seen the Grosvenor built quick style and is utterly beautiful…

Hello Rose,

Welcome to world of dolls houses. Well like I always say, this is your dolls house and you can do whatever you want. You can stick to an era or you can mix whatever you like. In my case I tend to stick to an era. Firstly before starting a dolls house I tend to go through an era history so I can get a clear picture of what was in fashion in colors or furniture. The most common Dolls Houses are the Victorian style. The Dolls House Emporium catalog is very inspiring as it captures most of the eras (Tudor, Victorian, Georgian, Contemporary and many more) It depends what you like. I have built around 6 dolls houses which have different eras or different styles) If you have chosen a particular dolls house or if there is something which you like for eg. furniture and accessories I can tell you which era they might fit in. I hope I was of help.

i have recently been given my first dolls house. i have wanted one since i was a little girl, but coming from a large family that was out of the question.
the problem i have is how do i decide which era to choose for my beautilful new home? i need lots of inspiration to help me decide. i have requested the catalogue from here, and i hope that will inspire me enough to make a choice, but if you can help me, i would be very pleased.

Woooow I like the style that the Doll’s House Emporium have designed their Grosvenor Hall, so I was considering buying it quickstyle or already built. But building and painting it yourself looks a lot more fun and is cheaper! I like how you are designing yours too I wish my painting skills were that neat and tidy!
