I live in the UK in a little villiage that I like living in!
I am 11 years old (going on 12 in early 2009).
I recently abtained a dolls house from my grandmother’s friends daughter, a rather gaudy yellow and blue piece but none the less a great strong shell!

You can transform it and make it the house of your dreams.If you have a family in it they can brighten any day.Make sure everyone knows your wishlist. I’m sure your family & friends will be delighted to get you some lovely things for your house. I’m 14, and i share the hobby, I have 2 dolls houses a large double fronted manor house my dad made me when i was six and a new shop kit that i’ve built and nearly finish. I don’t really no anyone else my age thats into dolls houses so it was nice when i read about you. i’ve actually just built another dolls house to sell is furnished & lit (it was my dads idea) you could think about doing the same.

Sounds really good! Unfortunately my granddad (who is funding all of the things I am doing) wants me to keep it. I could think of doing it in the future. Your dolls house sounds great, especially the shop- I’ve always wanted to do a sweet shop.

Hi Beth its me again,
I’m glad you are keeping your first one because it will become really special to you, my manor house & shop are to me. My shop is a Edwardian general store it does sell some sweets but lots of other things. The thing that i enjoy most about it is that i can make cakes, veg, fruit, & loads more items myself to sell in the shop out of fimo (it’s colour clay that you cook in the oven) you should get some fimo if you an arty person its fun & most art shops will have I.

I agree about the fimo! It’s a great medium to make miniatures in.
Have you seen some of the websites with tutorials for fimo miniatures, there is one for making incredible bread.
If you use fimo a lot, I would strongly recommend you buy some soft pastels (the kind that crumble) and some glaze. You’ll see why in tutorials.
I’ll try and get some links for the tutorials, they are well worth the money for the equipment.

Wow, I wish I got some money to do that! Yesterday (Saturday) I went to a miniaturists fair, loads of good quality bargains there! It was amazing the choice and colours and work put into each piece. I suggest going to one if you get to the chance!

It’s fantastic- but don’t forget to practice before you go onto the actual shop, it’s tricky, but produces great effects. I’ll try and get some photo’s if I manage to get the finish onto the house soon.

Hey, I’m Lydia I’m 13. I love dolls houses some of my friends are jealous but must just say thats nice (but a waste of space!) I thought that was rather rude of them lol:D. I got my dolls house for my last birthday 22nd June 2008. Hi, its laura. sorry i haven’t wrote in ages ive been so busy with school & i’ve had ‘the awfull’ glandular fever.
I’ve just totally finished a house i bought sell but so far i’ve had no look selling it its a hard bussiness so i think now i’m just going to keep it as a straight forward hobby. So i focusing on my own shop now & beth tomorro, now that i’ve practisted i’m gonna start to put bick on the shop.

Long time no talk, seems we’ve both been suffering Laura! I’ve been quite ill since January 1st, chest infections and all that jazz.
Good Luck with putting the brick on the house! If you have any tips post them here- I’d love to know your special techniques. I find you need to be very careful, take your time and get it on at an all round smooth consistency. Don’t put too much water in the brick mix to start with.
Looking forward to seeing some photos!

i sorry haven’t been in touch lately got the whole kitchen furniure at darby as well so dolls and some other bit’s and peices i hope to get some more flowers in window boxes as i only have one on the bottem and one on the top and it looks a little wierd me owning a dolls house has got my friend into them to and she brought a wooden dolls house and we have been doing it up together.

i go to studley high school Bet! it’s a nice school but then i love school so i think any school i go to i would think is nice anywho i think adding a front garden would be great unluckly we don’t have the room to do much extenstion work to my dolls house! but fingers crossed i have enough space for a barn and next year hopefully a basement and then maybe i can make a new dolls house

ok i think i’m gonna flip out everyone who enters my house is all “let’s see your dolls house now” so you show them and the fiddle with all the stuff and pick things up but you can’t say anything otherwise it would be rude. and then they say whats this ment to be? what was the price? FLIPPING HECK!!! and then when they go you have to open the dolls house up again and put everything back to where it was

i think i will tell my friends. Bet, i havent even built my house yet, much less been able to decorate. in the meantime i am trying to fix up an old two room peice of mine that i have. i have to say that it looks patehtic. my floors are felt, my people cook over a fire and they have no toilet. me being a modern dollshouser, this is pretty sad. my excuse is that the peoples real house was burnt down so they are renting this one until i can build their other one!
Cool, like your story…My people arent there :p (i have no-one in my house it must be vacant) i have a 6 room house which i got in 2002???? but 2 of the rooms are in the attic and dont have a divider (thats the toilet and the study) and there is no stairs to the attic! i like your house! i bought lake view off of the DHE so you guys know how to get a pic for it! Maybe i could try and download my sort of sad pic of my 2 room house. i came up with a funny idea for it today. after i build my other house, i think i will turn it into a resteraunt! I want to call it The French Quarter: American Cuisine! But i want to put french quarters on my sign, but i dont know where to get them? Any ideas?
ok i have finshed the barn yay! okay ideas for sign erm…have you got any carboard? if so cut a shape out of that then also cut the same shape only in paper do your sign on paper glue in on the carboard varnish it if you can get varnish or just leave it and then glue it on your house! oh and happy halloween!

yeah i am starting to make these dolls for my house and she thinks they are like cool and she enjoys talking about how i am decorating my house. of course she likes the victorian stuff and i am a ultramodern freak, but really who cares! just to have someone nearby to talk to about dollshouse stuff would be really nice!

okay! okay! okay! im very pleased with what my friend told me last night! I showed her how to make dollhouse people(very fun and my friends love playing with them!) and she is all into them. She also told me tha she wants to buy a kit for christmas. She has fallen in love with a 4 room victorian for $35. I know shed love the hobby she loves to play with my houses and its sorta our secret hobbh since the kids at school would think that because we play with dolls were freaks! but la la la yall know how middle schoolers(mainly my fellow 6th graders) are. i wonder if they are more civilized in england…..

thats about 1,200 dollars here! I have absolutely no furniture my my christmas money goes to that(i am getting a custom made kitchen! At least 400 dollars(200 pounds)) My people are going to be very large in my christmas village(which we get to put out this weekend!)

do u get a real christmas tree? we have a fake one as my gran can’t stand picking up all the pine needles out the cappet and they her my dog’s feet. i’ve decorated my dollhouse for christmas i haven’t got alolt just a tree, holly reef and some food. a costom kinticken sounds great what do u what it to look like?
Well, our tree is real. I only have the basement built, but i am excited nonetheless. The kitchen is a very very modern one. The wall shall be orange, the wood zebrano stained very dark. The appliances are stainless steel and everything flows into an art studio for my ultra creative family.
cool i’m into victorian stuff but latlely i’ve been looking at Waterside Way on here and think “oh i’d love to design that realy modern” but it would wierd next to my victorian houses
are all the walls going to be orange or just one orange wall as a feature wall?
well, just yesterday Ifound out from my mother that the custom kitchen a 500 dollars may be a little to expensive….. So back to the drawing board. I think I might put some Lundby furniture instead. Much cheaper! I know it’s a smaller scale but that doesn’t really bother me all that much. I wanted waterside way but it did not come in quickstyle and it would have been my 1st dollhouse so I didn’t want something to complicated! I Love Waterside Way though and now wish that maybe I had gotten that. No I think it would look good next to your houses as it would be something different.
Good news! I am getting the custom made kitchen! Instead of the expensive guitar I am getting the cheaper acoustic one. So I will only get to decorate 2 rooms in my house, but that’s okay with me!

yeah, I started the large part of LakeView today(I have already built the garden room-still not hinged
!) all my freinds live up nort and they got snow. there is a big winter storm here,but of course it is not hitting south carolina! It really isnt fair!
we have snow! not alot but it’s white outside! school finshed last week for Winter Holidays have you broke up yet? i got some clay yesterday and made a model boat for my study it looks realy good. glad you done some more on your house i bet it’s realy looking good
Still no snow,(ugh!) but yes we got out on Friday. My house is coming along very well. It looks great! I hope to finish it by Christmas(without the hinging). All I have lest is the roof staircase front, and other details….. I am going to buy some dolls from the DHE for it. I just ordered a discontinued Bozart toys kaleidoscope dollhouse couch! I also ordered a modern chair that I will cover in tweed. I built my best friend a dollhouse for Christmas. I moved my half finished LakeView downstairs. I have become mad because DHE discontinued the Malibu Beach Dollhouse! I have been watching things on eBay(hoping for another shot at the Kaleidoscope Dollhouse!) And after Christmas break I will be switching to a private school…. Lots going on in the U.S!(and my life!)

whats the diffrennce between normal school and privite? the only diffrence here is you have to pay but everything else is the same
i think it’s stupid that DHE sells a barn and horses but no acessories to go with the horses in the barn do you? anywho i say Merry Christmas and i hope you have a merry christmas. England’s gone mad they said there gonna stop calling christmas incase it offends people of diffrent religon! when i go to India or other places i recepect there holidays so why can’t they recpect ours

yeah, thats kind of stupid. Check out miniatures.com. It is american but they have stuff for the barn. Private school here is a better education without being around people who smoke and do drugs. MOst public shools here are good, but not the ones where I live. also this school is all girls cuz boys are anoying!
you’ll have drugs and somking werever you go in life though. boy’s are anoying is supose but most of my friends are boys so there are some that arn’t anoying did you have a good christmas i did!
Yeah I am decorating my dollhouse. All my friends are in love with waterside way, though I still prefer LakeView! Its true, I have met some really nice funny sweet guys, but they are very obnoxious around here…. What did you get for Christmas? I Am doing wallpaper an furniture. Oh and I am putting a red and black cafe in my LakeView garden room, but what should I call it!? Its very modern and all red white black and silver…. Random names? MAybe SilverFish? Peppermint stick? I obsessed with betty boop so most of my presents were betty boop themed or horse themed as i love horses and have a pony and a pony on loan (my pony lives in whales with my aunt) and i got books (i LOVE books) and some twilight jornals to write my own stories in (i love the Twilight books but i my opiniion the flims arn’t that good) and then of course i got dolls house bits! i positioned the dolls eating there dinner and opening presents and my mum took pictures of them and going “oh it’s looking great now” what did you get for christmas? oh that website you mentioned for barn stuff thanks
i’m now waiting for my mum to say i can order some stuff from DHE and miniatures.com and i’m going to get the bassment as well when i do the orders. your dolls house sounds great! did your friend like the house you got her? i hope she did. are you going for modern art deco look? how about Cup Dimounds instead of cut dimounds as dimounds are cut but this is a cafe do you have cups! it’ll be like a play on words
Well I got some things scattered here and there, but mostly money for my DH! I am more of a harry potter person but love to write and am starting a book in a journal i got for christmas. I actually built my friend a house from scraps i had from a kit. My style is modern 1950 to the future. Fun stuff! STill thinking about names but like the emporor penguin…..
emporor penguin is a cool name go for it. i have writen a book and am waiting for my ilistrator to hurry up and illistrat it so i can publish it and i’m in the middle of wirting five books well six but one i’m not doing much with. what do you like to write about? i go for fantasy or real life

No I am still building. I decided to measure and cut wallpaper before i put the roof on. That way I don’t have to Work around the roof and spiral staircases. But I want to order some stuff for it plus my people today. Which people do you like???
i like all the people except the babies in my opinion there horrid! i ordered the basment and funicture for my house and i still has arrvied! my mum is getting realy mad and complaining to DHE everyday!
The babies are hideous! Except for the one in yellow. She okay. I ordered my people and a kitchen set and wallpaper from the DHE Saturday and they have not come yet. I couldn’t not find a mother that looked like I wanted from DHE so I got one from eBay. Did you look at the limited availibility people? I ordered Mark from there.
no i didn’t look there. my order finaly came and i have built my basment with exception of the decorations and hinges that we will do today if not soon. i whent back to school today it’s freezeing but i still had to do swimming and it started snowing realy badly then while we were in hitory there was an anouccement that every pupil should go to there form room to tell them our destaination and how we would get there and who with as the school will be closed due to health and safety! so i only whent to school for an hour and a half and then came home!
I started a new school today. I only know a few people. 30% chance of snow on thursday here in sunny SC! MY stuff still has not come, but might come tom. That sounds very interesting about the snow story! My school is from 7:50 to 3:15! Long days….. Long Days…..

i go to school from 8:20 to 3:05 but it seems longer as we have to leave my house early as we leave far away and we also get there early and then at the end of the school day i have to wait for ages for my friend who we take to and from school to meet me at the top of the drive! whent sleding today and slipped over 3 times. do you like your new school? i don’t realy like my school as the work is too easy and i’m in top set! english my fave subjet is a bore so is RE history my other faveroties Drama is great though
My new school is good, but I dont have any friends yet. THe reason I changed schools was that my old school was way too easy! Still no packages in the mail ( from DHE or ebay!) I like english and history and NOT science and math. I like spanish and art and and music, but mainly art. I got a mini dollhouse for my dollhouse. (playmobil mini world, modern house! Adorable!) My school takes 15 min. to get to and from. Hoping something will come in the mail tommorow!

oh i love Science but the teacher teaches use easy stuff when we get back to school were learning how to boil salt water!!!!! i’m in middle set for langues so i don’t do spanish i do French (yuck) and German (yeah) art were doing cupcakes so it’s allright but the teachers a nutter! music we just go on computures! a mini dolls house cool! finshed the barn yay!
Still nothing from the dollhouse emporium! I am starting to get bored of just staring at my dollhouse. I want new stuff to put in it! I want my people. How long did it take for your stuff to come!?
it took four days for my stuff to come usally it only take two but it dose help with all this snow we have got theyv’e cancaled all flights and most roads are closed so thats probably the reason yours might take longer.
Yeah it has been five days since I ordered my stuff. I am starting to get mad because I want it very badly. Did you look at the limited availiability people?

you go to offers and look under limited availiblilty. Then you click on dolls. My stuff from Singapore (children’s beds) arrived before my stuff from England which is still not here!
the snow is still falling and we have run out of grit all flights have been canclaed and people who were going on holiday so were at the airport are living in the airport as they can’t go home as the roads are to bad and they can’t go on holiday as the flights have been cancaled. the only transport still running in england are trains so unless there is a massive train track going from england to america your not going to get your stuff for a while sorry a few bits of snow and are hole country goes into panick!
mannnnnn…… I recieved my daybeds but have my handmade(by me) family sleeping in them. The family planned to move out last week so that the new owners could move in, but the new owners are all from england and an unexpected snowstorm cancelled their flight, so the old family is staying for now!

i realy what another house now real bad but everyone says no there expensive and where will we put it and be gratefull for what youv’e got! the reson i what another house is i see the dolls i pick out who will be the aunt the uncle the friend the cosions but i don’t what to buy the dolls unless they have somewhere to live!
I have a little two room cottage kit that I got for $15 at miniatures.com. Is the snow melting at all? My people are probably camping out at the airport with everyone else! Oh well…. At least there is a kitchen set in the box!

oh my Great Grandma has tons of thoose bird pens you get them for £1 at the pound shop. off school again as snow bucketed down in the night!
Well It took 2 weeks but my people are here! I love the kitchen and am pretty happy with the people. But the dad is only a bit taller than the son and daughter and the son is quite large. The porcelin is not bendable so the the girls arms and legs move and thats it. Other than that I love theese peple. Oh and the dad has a bald spot on his head and his shirt is HUGE on him! And I found a reindeer pen!

And the dads lips were purple but i fixed that by coloring with a pinky orange permanent marker! I am working on clothes for the girl, and debating what to do with the son. The picture made him look small and perfect size. They all looked different on the pictures. But I love the kitchen! Great buy for only 20 dollars. Drawers cupboards ovens all open and move. Detailed and fun!
didn’t you look at the sizes of the dolls? i always do so i don’t get that problem. my stuff came so now my basment is filling up
Well, I thought it said that he was 1/12 scale, but my mother came and he is soooo much shorter. But no matter, I have some caco dolls that I want to move into that house. I am running out of space in LAkeView. I think I might have to buy another basement kit and keep stacking. I saw someone who did that (not wiht LAkeView) and it looked realy neat. Or I could bash my cafe, put the kitchen somewhere else for now and wait until next Christmas when I can buy the BAsement Quickstyle so it matches the rest of the house!

I lived having snow, it only lasted one night. I got a new dollhouse. Very awesome! Look up the imagination dollhouse and you will see my new one

Heeeyyyy so you know how I was using post-it’s for wallpaper? Well, IT’S DONE! Finally finished! And it looked so good that I am doing it in the bathroom as well. Will post pics when I figure out how.
cool i have tried to put pic but me and technology don’t work out so great i’m having a table built to put my dolls house on so finaly the dog won’t shake her hairs on my patio that i reguarly have to clean because of her
